Inclusive Play Atlas is published and edited by Derek Brumby. Derek is responsible for the site's editorial standards, source transparency, corrections process, and separation between editorial coverage and paid promotion. The Atlas does not claim that its publisher is an accessibility inspector or that a public-source review replaces input from disabled visitors, caregivers, advocates, or park professionals.
Why The Directory Exists
A park page may say a playground is accessible or inclusive without explaining the route, surface, transfer access, ramp access, adaptive equipment, communication supports, sensory environment, fencing, shade, or restroom situation. The Atlas brings those planning details together and keeps important unknowns visible so a family can decide what to verify before leaving home.
What A Profile Means
A profile is a synthesis of available evidence, not an endorsement and not a promise that every part of a site will work for every visitor. Access needs vary, conditions change, and a playground can be strong in one area while presenting barriers in another. Source counts, source-check dates, limitations, and change notes are shown so readers can judge confidence for themselves.
How Research Is Assisted
Software-assisted workflows help organize candidate playgrounds, standardize public fields, identify missing information, and prepare records for source review. Automation does not establish that a playground is accessible. Claims should remain tied to visible sources, and pages with inadequate evidence should be withheld from search indexing or carry a specific uncertainty note.
